EDR Breaks Ground at State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forrestry

Scheduled to open in 2011, EDR began construction on this on-campus community. The building is expected to have 454 total beds in fully-furnished residence hall suites and apartments for freshmen and upper classmen with state-of-the-art accommodations such as fully wired data and cable services. Other amenities will include a multi-purpose commons area, lounge, computer lab, bike storage, laundry facilities and other conveniences for the comfort of the SUNY-ESF students.

"SUNY's College of Environmental Science and Forestry is one of the nation's leading eco-friendly universities," said Rhonda Johannesen, Vice President, Allen & O'Hara, and lead developer on this project. "The design will be a model of sustainable building and landscaping that embodies the environmental values of the College and their goal to become a climate neutral campus."

EDR Breaks Ground on Graduate Student Housing at Johns Hopkins

Education Realty Trust Inc. (NYSE:EDR), a leader in the ownership, development and management of collegiate student housing, and East Baltimore Development, Inc., (EBDI) a nonprofit partnership of private and public entities dedicated to Baltimoreâ€™s urban revitalization, hosted a Groundbreaking Celebration on September 10 to celebrate the commencement of work on the new graduate student housing project in the Science + Technology Park at Johns Hopkins.

Ryan McRae Wins Best Program at WACUHO!

Our own Ryan McRae, Resident Director at University Village, won best program of the conference at the Western Association of College and University Housing Officers (WACUHO) held in June 2010. Ryan presented on Geek Week - a programming model he developed here at UNIVERSITY.

As a reward for his winning presentation, Ryan will be a special speaker at the Association of College and University Housing Officers - International meeting in New Orleans in 2011. He will present the best idea from West Coast housing professionals.
